Road of Life has an integrated elementary health education curriculum available for download free on our website, our curriculum contains 31 lessons that focus on nutrition, physical activity and tobacco use prevention. The curriculum is integrated into core academic subject areas (social studies, science, English language arts, mathematics) and is aligned to Ohio State Academic Content Standards Benchmarks for the 3-4 program and Indicators for grade 4. It also meets National Health Education Standards for grades 3-5. We believe our curriculum would add an excellent resource to the home school environment. Free World U is a non-profit organization that provides a free education to anyone with Internet access. Our students tell us that they are able to learn six hours worth of lessons in only half an hour.
This is possible because of the discovery that all knowledge, whether it be math, social studies, English, or science, is reducible to tiny fact units. The human brain does not assimilate entire books and lectures. Rather, it has to translate these into fact units. If the information is translated beforehand, the process moves dramatically faster.
First of all, we define the entire state-mandated Pre-K-12 curriculum.
Next we break it down into fact units, numbering in the hundreds of thousands, organized in a logical sequence. We then convert each fact unit into a question and answer pair.
We combine each question and answer pair with an illustration and place it on a flashcard accessible by the Internet.
As students study the flashcards, they have the ability to eliminate the ones that they have mastered. The system remembers every student and the status of every fact unit that that student has encountered. Students are able to be absolutely certain that they have mastered all of the material. The flashcards are so simply written that even students with learning disabilities find them easy to follow.
Students do not need to purchase any books or supplies to learn with the system. The cost of homeschooling is eliminated.
The burden on homeschooling parents is drastically reduced. You can watch a movie demonstrating the system by clicking here:
