J.O.Y. Music Fact Sheet
The J.O.Y. Music Program exists to aid homeschooling families in the development of musical gifts. We seek to glorify God by giving Him praise and by training children to play and sing for His glory.

The program was started in the fall of 1994 and during the 2006-2007 school year served approximately 70 families, over 120 participants.
The program consists of Beginning, Combined, and Advanced Bands, Explorers’ Choir (grades 1-4), Intermediate Choir (grades 5-7), J.O.Y. Chorale (grades 8-12) and The J.O.Y. Singers (High School; by audition), as well as instruction in recorder.
We have two programs per year, one at Christmastime, and one in mid-May.
Julie Ayers, the director of J.O.Y. Music, was formerly a state-certified music teacher. She brings over twenty years of experience in the field of music education to the program.
Debbie Horner teaches Beginning Band and Explorers’ Choir. Mrs. Horner also with years of classroom experience, was also formerly a state-certified music instructor in vocal and instrumental music.
We meet every Friday in the Christ Community Church building located just north of SR 6 on County Road X in Ridgeville Corners.
Our year will begin on the Friday after Labor Day. The first semester ends in mid-December. We will reconvene for second semester in January, and end in mid-May.
