ARM: Climate Resource Facility

The Atmospheric Radiation Measurement (ARM) Program was created in 1989 by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) to develop several highly instrumented ground stations to study cloud formation processes and their influence on radiative transfer. As the program evolved to include additional measurements of aerosol and precipitation, the original ground sites were supplemented with three mobile facilities and an aerial facility. This comprehensive scientific infrastructure and data archive were designated by DOE as a scientific user facility—the ARM Climate Research Facility—in 2003, and are freely available for use by scientists worldwide.

The program provides a unique opportunity for kindergarten through college-level teachers to sail aboard NOAA research ships to work under the tutelage of scientists and crew.

Dry Dredgers

The Dry Dredgers is an association of amateur geologists dedicated to the knowledge and enjoyment of fossils. Sun Watch Indian Village/Archaeological Park

SunWatch offers five unique, age appropriate guided tours designed to complement classroom and home school curriculum guidelines to provide students with a unique educational experience. Each tour lasts 1½–2½ hours with approximately one hour spent outside touring the reconstructed village (dress appropriately according to the weather). Available to groups of 20 or more students/participants. One month advance registration required.

CoCoRaHS School Pilot Program

CoCoRaHS is an acronym for the Community Collaborative Rain, Hail and Snow Network.
